They paid the price after Marisol was sacked, They were not afraid that they were scared, They were attacked a hundred miles aback, And they battled street by street, As they fought for their homes and family, They gained more faith, more sanity, But before they lose their will to dare, There’s hope to give To end the war. He will come to end this pain, He will come to bring you home again, He has seen the worst of humanity, He has seen the face of wars to be, He will come to stop the insanity, He has come for the dead to be freed, He will come before others die in need, God's will will look for The end of the war.
The poem is meant to be a heartfelt tribute to those who have suffered in the conflict in Ukraine, and an appeal to end the war. It highlights the human cost of war, the loss of homes and families, and the desperation of those caught in the midst of it. The poem also touches on the idea of faith and sacrifice, suggesting that even in the face of terrible loss, people can find strength in their beliefs. The message that God wants peace and an end to suffering resonates, making it a powerful call to action. I was inspired to write this poem as a tribute to the freedom fighters of Marisol. I wanted to speak on the faith and sacrifice being made by the freedom fighters of Ukraine. I believe God wants peace and wants to end the suffering. Some may say war is the work of the fallen angel Satan while I believe there are happenings that we are not able to understand as we are limited in our comprehension of space and time by our humanism. Do you believe in a loving God or believe man's war is too trivial for the supreme being to get involved in?
Lastly, I want to note that on a personal level the inspiration where I felt a conscious contact with God has dissipated. I was under intense pain with a medical problem that exacerbated my ideas that I had a special insight. I am no longer under these delusions, or the pain, although I still feel at peace and hope for an end to war. I was inspired to write this poem by the following song; Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris - Done With Bonaparte (Real Live Roadrunning | Official Live Video) Done With Bonaparte Mark Knopfler He has paid in hell since Moscow burned As Cossacks tear us piece by piece Our dead are strewn a hundred leagues Though death would be a sweet release And our grande armée is dressed in rags A frozen starving beggar band Like rats we steal each other's scraps Fall to fighting hand to hand Save my soul from evil, Lord And heal this soldier's heart I'll trust in thee to keep me, Lord I'm done with Bonaparte What dreams he made for us to dream Spanish skies, Egyptian sands The world was ours, we marched upon Our little Corporal's command And I lost an eye at Austerlitz The sabre slash yet gives me pain My one true love awaits me still The flower of the aquitaine Save my soul from evil, Lord And heal this soldier's heart I'll trust in thee to keep me, Lord I'm done with Bonaparte I pray for her who prays for me A safe return to my belle France We prayed these wars would end all wars In war we know is no romance And I pray our child will never see A little Corporal again Point toward a foreign shore Captivate the hearts of men
