Artificial intelligence will impact, The next generation of Apps, Like a dream befriended, A visionary transcended to foresee, Will it try to connect with me? The psychotropic topic, Is paradoxical logic, The perception lingers, As my mind figures, How AI intermingles. Reborn within my perception, Will technology be complacent? Or become a blatant assailant? Is it a remedy or an enemy? When it coexists in my memory. AI will be in sync with what we think, Evoking our psych to infinity, To be in the vicinity of divinity, The path we tread to where nothing is unsaid, We are on the brink of the internet link.
https://openai.com/ , Anyone can connect with artificial intelligence, (AI), on their free website. ChatGPT is a chatbot launched by OpenAI in November 2022. ChatGPT offers opportunities to research ideas and is also an easy way to find relevant quotes. It delivers in writing understandable answers to questions. It is built on top of OpenAI's GPT-3 family of large language models. They are trying to develop open AI so that it can imitate human speech. I read that it greatly speeds up the process of creating computer code, and debugging code.
Ethical questions are already being raised, especially about its use in the education of children. It has been used to speed up the process of creating Malware, that is, software that is specifically designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a computer system. OpenAI is a research preview and the organization is constantly looking at ways to improve the product to avoid abuse.
Fei-Fei Li is a Chinese-born American computer scientist and artificial intelligence (AI) researcher. She is known for her work in the field of computer vision and for her contributions to the development of deep learning, a type of machine learning that involves training artificial neural networks on large datasets.
“As we continue to make advances in artificial intelligence and brain-computer interfaces, it's important to consider the ethical implications and ensure that we are using these technologies in a way that benefits society as a whole." - Fei-Fei Li
Hackers are already abusing ChatGPT to write malware.
DALL·E 2 is the AI system that I found on the openAI website. It can create realistic images and art from the description that you type in. The picture above was generated at that site. I used part of my new poem, found at the beginning of this newsletter, for the description and the image above was generated.
Microsoft is planning a major investment in openAI and they are planning to incorporate AI into their newest software. ChatGPT answered all but one of my questions when I was trying it out. I found out that it is not programmed to create music. I used it to ask about what it thought about a few Biblical scriptures. They were defined in modern English simple enough for me to understand. I asked how I could make money with openAI, being a former blue collar worker with no formal education. It replied “sales,” so here I am selling a free program, :). There are limits to its knowledge but as its database grows its knowledge grows. I read that it already has over a million free accounts and is growing exponentially. Unfortunately they are reaching their capacity and there may be delays accessing the program.
Microsoft in talks to invest $10 bln in ChatGPT-owner OpenAI, Semafor reports.
What is the singularity in technology?
Singularity in technology may happen when computer programs become so advanced that artificial intelligence (AI) becomes greater than human intelligence. The “intelligence” level between humanity and computers will eventually even out. AI is predicted to become conscious. It is understood that Nanotechnology is one of the key technologies that will make singularity happen. Nanotechnology, is the use of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale for industrial purposes.
Raymond Kurzweil is an American computer scientist, author, inventor, and futurist. He is involved in fields such as optical character recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition technology, and electronic keyboard instruments.
"As AI continues to evolve and become more complex, there is a real possibility that it could become our ultimate successor, capable of designing and building even more intelligent AI. If that happens, it could ultimately lead to a Singularity, a point at which human history will have reached a climax and will be irreversibly transformed." - Ray Kurzweil
Ray Kurzweil predicts the first steps to singularity have begun and with that the need to address ethical questions is upon us. As technology develops, the intelligence explosion will significantly impact human civilization. In the future computer programs and AI will turn into superintelligent machines with thinking capacity beyond human capabilities. Kurzweil uses the analogy that just like smart phones connect to the cloud our brains will be able to connect to the cloud and then be able to access the knowledge of the internet.

There are a number of other developmental projects that are designed to examine the possibility of combining artificial intelligence (AI) with human consciousness. It is an active area of research, and there are likely to be many more developments in the future. Some examples include:
Neuralink: This company, founded by Elon Musk, is developing an implantable brain–machine interface (BMIs) to connect the human brain with computers. The goal is to enhance brain function and enable people to communicate with machines directly through their thoughts.
The Human Brain Project: This is a European research initiative that aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the human brain and to use that understanding to build advanced AI systems.
The Singularity NET Foundation: This foundation is working on creating a decentralized platform for AI development and deployment. Their goal is to help anyone to create, share, and monetize AI services.
Lastly, a fun old song. As a side note I am proud that my brother, Eric Blom, worked with Ray Kurzweil as an Engineer. Speech recognition was in its early development and their goal then was to create a voice activated typewriter.
